Muslim apologists keep telling us that Qur’an 9:30 is perfectly accurate when it says, “The Jews say Uzair is the son of Allah.”
To defend this, Deen Response on behalf of himself and orthodox muslim on X/Twitter posted a screenshot from a 12th‑century Jewish convert to Islam, Samau’al al‑Maghribi, and claimed this proves that “Uzair is Eliezer/Ezra.” But the very page they highlighted literally starts with the words: “This Ezra is not al‑Uzayr as people think.” Hatun simple walk through their own source, read the lines they skipped, and show how their “proof” destroys their claim.
We also show how this confusion over the identity of Uzair/Uzayr exposes a serious problem in Qur’an 9:30 and raises an obvious question:
If the Qur’an is perfect guidance, why are Muslim scholars still guessing who Uzair even is?
