The LA Times published a story on how sex tourism in Indonesia is happening under the guise of Islamic temporary marriages. These are referred to as mut’ah in Shia Islam and misyar in Sunni Islam, often labeled “temporary pleasure marriages.” Such arrangements could be seen as a form of prostitution or zina.
