Evangelism in Action TBS

Dr. Costa will be teaching a course this Fall on Evangelism in Action: Practical Apologetics at Toronto Baptist Seminary. *This course will be offered both "in-class" and also online.*
This course is intended to introduce and orient Christian believers to the field of apologetics in a practical context by examining abroad spectrum of various subjects. Apologetics is the “missing link” in the Christian witness. This course will offer primarily a practical dimension to the field of apologetics so that the student can effectively apply what he/she has learned. The course is designed to challenge critical thinking and provide scholarly handles from a Christian perspective to grapple an assortment of difficult issues and questions which challenge the historic Christian faith. This course also encourages Christian students to engage in discussion, present difficult questions, and commit oneself to a serious study of the course materials. The ultimate goal of this course is to acquaint students with the reliability and authenticity of the Scriptures and the uniqueness of Jesus Christ, and the claims of Christianity as they relate to the outside world and human experience. The outcome of the course is to accomplish two things: first, that the student will be competently trained to boldly proclaim his/her faith, and secondly, that he/she will be able to effectively defend it. The Scriptural principle for this course is based on the great commandment to love God with all of one’s mind and thereby glorify God through the intellect as well.
This course runs Monday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 9:20 p.m. EST beginning on September 13, 2021.
This course is offered both for credit and audit students. Audit students do not have to complete any of the assignments or course work.
